A report in the Altoona Mirror told of the retirement dinner for now former chancellor Lori Bechtel-Wherry last night. Wherry announced her retirement some time ago after 37 years of service. And at last night’s event, a donation of $1.3 million was made to the school in wherry’s name. $1 million came from Roz Sky, on behalf of her family and $300,000 from folks who attended the event. According to the report, wherry is going to retire in Arizona. Many speakers at the event praised wherry for her work and dedication to PSU Altoona, and that she was truly wonderful to work with.
