According to news reports, fire crews were called out to the blaze in Scotch Valley just after 3 am Thursday. The fire at 110 Susan avenue consumed much of then house when firefighters arrived. Officials say that 2 people were inside the home and both managed to escape. But one of those occupants suffered severe burns. Both residents were taken to the hospital smoke detectors alerted the residents to the fire, which helped them escape. The home collapsed while it burned, turning it into a total loss. 11 fire companies in all responded to fight the fire. The fire is under investigation.
