The Altoona Mirror reports that the borough has proposed its 2023 budget, with no tax increases proposed and a budget surplus of $6. Borough manager Jim Gehret told the Mirror that it is getting tougher to write the budgets every year with inflation and salary increases. After all expenditures and revenues were added up, the borough came out ahead with the $6 surplus. Salaries and healthcare costs make up the lions share of the spending plan, coming in at nearly $1.7 million. The proposed budget will be on display for public viewing for 30 days.
