Local news reports indicate that police were sent to the Kettle Inn after it was reported that a gun was fired at a car containing several people. Police say that Mark Phillips was involved in the physical struggle which resulted with a gunshot into the car a woman was driving. Police said that Phillips began to pistol whip one of the passengers, before the woman could take off. Police later found Phillips at his home, where he reportedly told them that the gun did go off, but it was an accident. Police found a hat that Phillips presumably wore to the bar. The hat was identified by the owner of the bar from photos on Facebook. Phillips is locked up in the Blair County jail charged with attempted homicide and aggravated assault.
