A report by WTAJ indicates that he water authority has announced that water and sewer rates may increase in the coming new year. The authority is proposing an 8% increase in water rares,and a 15% increase for sewer rates. The authority says that the increase is to offset the $117 million the authority will pay out for infrastructure improvements for the next 10 years. There still is the matter of board approval for these rate increases, which would be the first since 2018. The increases would be included in the base charges on your monthly bills.
