A television news report from Harrisburg says that Gov. Wolf is frustrated that he could not get the legislature to approve $2000 stimulus checks to Pennsylvania households that earn less than $80,000 per year. The idea went along the lines of the federal stimulus checks which for a lot of Americans totaled $3200 from late 2020 into 2021. Wolf said the money for Pennsylvania stimulus checks would have come from $1.7 billion the state received from the federal govt. If passed, it would have cost some $500 million to cover all households that fell under the $80,000 income limit to receive a check. Wolf says he is disappointed that the legislature, specifically republicans decided not to help residents by not approving these checks.
