A report by WJAC indicated that the $55 million budget passed this week, which included pay raises for county workers, but the county treasurer says it is not enough of an increase. Tony DeLuca told channel 6 that the raises are not enough to recruit more people to work for the county, and should have been done on a tier system. And he also said as treasurer he should have been in on the discussions, but he was not included. Non union workers will receive either a $1000 pay hike, or 3.5%, whichever is greater. Several employees lobbied for, higher wages, but their request was not heard. Final approval of 2023 salaries will take place in early January.
