Reports from Harrisburg indicate that a three judge Commonwealth Court panel has ruled that the state can proceed with three special elections next month in order to fill three vacant seats in the house of representatives. All three seats are located in democratic voter heavy Allegheny County. Two of the three seats were vacated after representatives were elected to other offices, lt. Gov of pa and the U.S. House, and one was left open due to the death of rep. Anthony DeLuca. All three elections will be held on February 7th, and will finally determine who has control of the house, which right now sits with republicans at 101-99. Republican Rep Bryan Cutler was lobbying for these elections to be held in May, but was turned down by the court.
