The Altoona Mirror reports that District Judge Fred Miller is opting to run for common pleas judge. Miller has been a district judge since 2002, and previously served as a practicing attorney and a law clerk. Miller is joining a growing list of candidates for one of seats that will be up for grabs, after Judge Tim Sullivan announced his retirement last year. Another term on the bench, the one left by judge Dan Milliron is being carried out, and will also be on the ballot this year. So far, there are at least 2 other candidates for the now 2 open seats on the bench. Miller says he wants to continue to serve Blair County, which has been good to him all of his life. Miller says he will run on both party tickets in the May primary.
