The protest was to show support for a woman who claims to have been raped by 2 SFU football players last year. The students protested the fact that they feel the university was not forthcoming about details of the investigation, and that the campus is not safe for female students. The students said that yesterday protest was a call for action to tell university officials to to something about security at the school. One student told television news that there was another alleged sexual assault last year, and nothing was said or done about it. SFU President Fr. Malachi Van Tassel said that the school could not make any comments while the investigation is ongoing.
