News reports indicate that Alan Shaw visited the devastated area where numerous cars derailed, spilling toxic chemicals into the ground and air nearly 2 weeks ago. Shaw told reporters that Norfolk Southern will do what is right to fix the situation. Ohio Gov Mike DeWine was upset that Norfolk representatives apparently skipped a town meeting last week to discuss plans to help residents and lay out a recovery plan. Shaw said that NS is committed to helping East Palestine get back on its feet and the company will take responsibility for the accident.
