The Associated Press is reporting that the EPA has ordered Norfolk Southern to pay for the cleanup of the train derailment that spilled toxic chemicals into the air, ground and water of the Ohio town that borders Pennsylvania. The CEO of NS, Alan Shaw said earlier that the rail company will do what is necessary to ensure the health and well being of residents is top priority. EPA officials say they will stay on top of this situation, and will make sure that Norfolk Southern does what they promised to do, and to see that cleanup and financial obligations are met. Pa Gov Josh Shapiro, says he has looked into criminal charges against ns because the derailment involved Pennsylvania, and ripped NS about its lack of response and untransparent handling of information about the derailment.
