Television news reports indicate that the city council has assigned city engineer Chris Nasuti as its new temporary city manager. Nasuti replaces John Suplizio, who resigned from the manager’s position this week. Suplizio is facing charges of stealing more than $600,000 from city bank accounts and from the Dubois United Way. Suplizio was put on paid administrative leave last Friday, and resigned this week, his resignation was accepted by council on Wednesday. Nasuiti says that Dubois is now very attentive to its oversight of its financial accounts and is committed to seeing the investigation through to completion. Suplizio is charged with theft, conflict of interest, misapplication of entrusted property and fraudulent return.
