The three time senator made his official announcement yesterday, and said that his agenda closely resembles that of Joe Biden with the spotlight on spending to improve infrastructure across America and lowering drug costs for those on Medicare. Casey is the longest serving democrat from Pennsylvania in the senate’s history, and is seeking a 4th 6 year term. Republicans are already on the attack, saying that Casey has voted on bills that would destroy social security and medicare which Casey denounced. Some early potential republicans to challenge Casey are Dave McCormick who lost to Mehmet Oz in the 2022 senate race, and State Senator Doug Mastriano, who lost to Josh Shapiro for the governors mansion.
