911 staffing rises

In a WTAJ report, staffing levels at 911 centers has continued to get stronger, even after the pandemic, according to several 911 directors in the area. Mark Taylor of Blair Bounty says that Blair Bounty has nearly all 35 of its positions filled, when they were down 8 people at the height of staffing problems. In Bedford county, an increase in hourly wages and excellent recruitment by county government aided to the increase. Taylor says that getting the right person for the job is extremely important because the 911 operators are the true first responders.
