Television news reports indicate that authorities in both Michigan and Centre County say they confirmed the identity of a man suspected in the rape of a woman at the Penn State Blue Golf course. Police have identified the suspect as Kurt Allen Rillema of West Bloomfield Michigan. Police report that Rillema left DNA evidence on a cup of coffee, and it turned out to match DNA evidence from a similar case in Michigan from 1999. A genealogical match with Rillema’s two brothers led police to determine that Kurt Rillema was in State College at the time of the rape. The DNA evidence was collected last month at a car dealership in Michigan.
