According to television news reports, the crews were sent out around 4 pm to battle flames along Sandy Ridge. Fire officials said that the fire was reported to be in the area of Sandy Ridge Trail and Ponderosa Drive in Rush Township. Thick clouds of black smoke could be seen from miles away, and were particularly visible from interstate 99. Fire crews from Blair, Centre and Clearfield counties responded to the alarm call. No injuries were reported. We will report more information if and when it becomes available.
