Television news reports indicate that police chased 24 year old Shane Perla of Beaverdale during a chase that led officers through several communities, ending up in Johnstown., The reports suggest that Perla stole a car in Beaverdale and began the chase through Summerhill, into Adams Twp and ending in Johnstown. Police say Perla tried to run from police after he crashed into a tree and caused lots of damage before the crash. Perla had to be tased to be taken into custody. He is facing numerous felony counts of theft, receiving stolen property and eluding law enforcement.
