A report by WJAC indicates that officials have charged 37 year old Jerome Washington has been charged with assaulting a corrections officer on March 1st of this year. The reports indicates that Washington allegedly hit the officer in the face, after he was taken back to his cell. The injured officer was transported to the Mt. Nittany Medical Center for several facial fractures and underwent surgery. The assault was captured on the prison video system. Washington is charged with felony aggravated assault and aggravated assault with intent to cause bodily harm. The assault took place at SCI Rockview.
