Thomas was convicted on 6 counts during his recent trial for attacking a Windber woman in her home in September 2021. Thomas was convicted of strangulation, criminal trespass, unlawful restraint, indecent assault, false imprisonment and simple assault. Thomas was scheduled to be sentenced today, but because he was convicted of simple assault, an independent evaluation has to be concluded before he can be sentenced. The evaluation will determine if Thomas has to be classified as a sexual predator. Once that is done, the judge in the case will determine how much time Thomas will spend in prison.
