WJAC reports that both Duncansville Boro and Allegheny Twp police were involved in the chase that occurred on Monday. Police report that 44 year old Joseph Hale of Hollidaysburg is accused of stealing a woman’s van from the parking lot at the Comfort Inn on Patchway Road. Hale reportedly drove the van to Martins in Duncansville but took off once police spotted the van. He turned onto plank road and fled for several minutes, leading police through Hollidaysburg on numerous streets. He then crashed the van near legion park, then fled on foot and jumped into the nearby river. He was caught at the dairy queen on N. Juniata Street. Hale was arraigned Monday and is in the Blair County jail on $100,000 bail.
