A report by WJAC indicates police have charged 42 year old Joshua Jenkins for nearly burning down his Logan Blvd home last Thursday. Police say that Jenkins told them he was trying to kill spiders that apparently invaded his home with a small butane torch. Police reported that the flame caught the siding of the house on fire, and that he allegedly tried to hide the torch from firefighters and police once they arrived. Jenkins is charged with arson, causing or risking a catastrophe, tampering with evidence, obstructing emergency services and possession of an instrument of crime. Jenkins faced drug theft charges from another case from December of last year, where he is accused of stealing a bag of drugs from an ambulance at UPMC Altoona.
