News reports suggest the crash occurred on the highway near mile marker 39sb near the Pinecroft exit. Authorities say that fire fighters reported that the truck contained some 900 gallons of an oxidizing material and the truck had an active leak. Also, the saddle tank of the truck also was leaking fuel. Altoona firefighters set up a perimeter to collect all of the leaking fuel and hazardous materials involved. The accident had I-99 closed for about 6 hours. No injuries were reported. The investigation to find the cause of the crash will continue.
