Prelim report on fatal plan crash released

Television news reports indicate that the National Transportation Safety Board reported that the piper pa-30 aircraft was destroyed when it crashed shortly after takeoff on June 17th. The plane taxied down the runway around 5:00 am that morning, then was airborne at 5:04, turned left and began to climb. The plane then crashed in a wooded area abut 2 miles south of the Cambria County airport. 2 men on board were killed in the crash, but the Cambria County coroner still has yet to identify the victims. This report has been labeled preliminary, with more details to possibly follow.
