Television news reports indicate that the National Transportation Safety Board reported that the piper pa-30 aircraft was destroyed when it crashed shortly after takeoff on June 17th. The plane taxied down the runway around 5:00 am that morning, then was airborne at 5:04, turned left and began to climb. The plane then crashed in a wooded area abut 2 miles south of the Cambria County airport. 2 men on board were killed in the crash, but the Cambria County coroner still has yet to identify the victims.
