Police reports indicate that two people are accused of robbing a Dollar General store in Northern Blair County and a tobacco store in Altoona. The first robbery took place around 7 am when Joseph Mazza and Amber Herren both of Dubois allegedly walked into the unique tobacco store in Altoona. Herren walked into the store and purchased a soda, then Mazza entered, brandished a pistol and demanded money. They got nearly $2000 in cash. Then state police were called to a second robbery in progress at the Dollar General store on Rt 350 on the Tyrone Pike. Both were caught after a traffic stop on Rt 322 near Port Matilda. Both Mazza and Herren are facing a list of charges for both robberies. A one month old baby was in the car with the couple when they committed the alleged robberies.
