Television news reports indicate that police were sent to a home on Wood Street in Johnstown around 4:15 am Saturday for a shooting incident. Police were told that 34 year old Michael Lyles was in the home and had a gun. Police say that a gunshot could be heard over a phone call placed to 911. Lyles was arrested by Johnstown police about 45 minutes after the shooting. According to the story, the victim Candice Mervin had bailed Lyles out of jail, back in February. He was awaiting trial on charges in another case. Lyles is now faced with charges including homicide, aggravated assault and child endangerment
