News reports indicate that the center, located in Altoona is short staffed, and department leaders are looking for workers to fill open slots available. 911 coordinator Sue Ammerman told WTAJ that they are looking for people who want to make a difference, and who enjoy helping people. 911 will be hosting for the first time ever, open interviews for potential employees. You do not have to live in Blair County to apply, but you must be 18, pass a criminal background check and a pre employment drug test. Also, you must be available to work nights, weekends and holidays. The open interviews will be held July 18th from 1-4 pm and July 19th from 4-7 pm
