Television news reports indicate that Altoona, Bellwood Antis, Glendale Area and Tyrone have all filed suits against Meta, which owns several social media outlets, along with Google. All 4 districts filed their own separate lawsuit, claiming that the social media outlets are harmful to the mental health development of school aged children. Schools all over the country have sounded the same alarm bells about these social media properties, and children are the unwitting targets of their platforms. The four local lawsuits were filed in U.S. Western District court on Wednesday.
