The Altoona Mirror reports that organizers of the Community Days celebration have decided to not have fireworks, an annual part of the celebration. Ashlyn Dugan told the Mirror that the $5000 earmarked for fireworks could be used elsewhere. Several local businesses stepped up to help with the $5000, but then suddenly backed pout. The 2 day event will go on as scheduled this Friday from 5-10 pm and Saturday from noon-10pm.
