A report from WJAC indicates that Sen. Angus King has proposed legislation that would make election day a public holiday. King says that this would improve access to all voters to go to the polls and make some reforms happen. King said that we must protect our democracy, and by allowing everyone to vote who is eligible to vote to, this wouled create a stronger democracy. His bill would also create automatic online voter registration and same day voter registration. The bill has the support of 40 senators according to the report.
