According to a report in the Altoona Mirror, Democrat Lindsey Powell will face off against Republican Erin Autenreith in Allegheny County, for a seat that is usually held by democrats. The race is for the seat vacated by Rep. Sara Innamoratti who resigend in july to run for County Executive in Allegheny County. Republicans do admit that this is a total long shot to win the seat in the heavily democratic district, and have not spent a lot of money on any campaign strategy. The race is scheduled for September 19th. Right now the house is split at 101 on each side of the aisle, and is scheduled to return one week after the special election.
