The Altoona Mirror reported that people bring bikes onto Amtran busses has created a problem, one which the company has now dealt with. If you have an e-bike, it can be placed on an outside rack of a bus, provided it can be properly secured. Gas powered bikes are entirely prohibited inside any bus. CEO Josh Baker said that any type of bike with gasoline poses a threat to safety. Amtran secured legal counsel on the matter, and they were told that these bikes could create a hazard. More and more people across the state are trying to board public busses with these bikes. The new policy will be posted for all to read and understand.
