According to an Altoona Mirror report, the suit is possibly headed to a district judge in South Carolina. The authority says that it is suing several big chemical companies, because of the high amounts of PFA’s discovered in the water that serves some 3000 customers. The source of then PFA’s may be fire foam that has been used at the Altoona-Blair County Airport over a number of years. The foam is used to put out shallow spill fires, but also to get rid of aviation and marine fuels. The suit is to try to get money for damages from the contaminated water supply and to continue to monitor the water supply for years to come.
