An Altoona Mirror report says that a jury convicted 64 year old Daniel Blazier Jr of simple assault and recklessly endangering others at his home. The report indicates that Blazier was upset at his neighbors setting off fireworks on July 4 of 2020, and Blazier reportedly brought out a gun and fired it to stop the display. He told 2 different versions of the story, one that the fired into the ground, and a second one was he shot into the air. A physical confrontation also apparently occurred between Blazier and his neighbor. Blazier was initially facing some 30 charges, but Judge Wade Kagarise lowered that to 9, and the jury convicted on only 2. A date for sentencing has not been set.
