WJAC reports that the judge dismissed several charges filed against Scott Williams, who,is accused of beating and raping a Penn State student back in 1995 the night before she was to graduate. His attorney is claiming that DNA evidence collected by police is suspect, and should not be used, and Williams maintains his innocense. Police obtained a “John Doe”warrant at the time of the investigation, to fight off the statue of limitations on the case. Some charges were dismissed but the most serious including rape, aggravated assault and several others remain. Williams is scheduled for trial early next year.
