Norfolk Southern gave Penn State a locomotive as a gift back in 1995, and that rail car has since been housed in Hollidaysburg. But now the locomotive has been moved into the Railroaders Memorial Museum in Altoona. The locomotive is painted Penn State blue ,and has Penn State Altoona 202 emblazened on the outside. The locomotive can serve as an educational tool, to help teach students about the rich and important rail history of Altoona, and to show the internal working of such a vehicle. It will remain out of service.
