According to an Altoona Mirror report, president Judge Elizabeth Doyle has officially lost her bid for retention to the bench. Updated results from the general election on Tuesday have confirmed that Judge Doyle will not be retained. The unofficial count from yesterday, saw Doyle having 516 more no votes than yes for retention. After Tuesday’s election, Doyle was losing the retention vote by 770 votes. Judge Doyle will remain on the bench through next month. According to the report, Gov. Josh Shapiro will name Judge Doyle’s replacement, who will the have to be confirmed by the Pa Senate with a 2/3 vote.
