In celebration of the official long-awaited release of their debut EP, this week’s “Local Song of the Week” honors go to Altoona-based soul, funk, folk, hip-hop, reggae and rock adventurers The PennSoulvanians, and one of the songs off their EP, “Last Call,” an anthem celebrating live music and libations on weekend nights. Since their formation in 2019, The PennSoulvanians – now featuring founding members and vocalists Michael DuVille Thomas and Chet Denny (who plays acoustic guitar), lead guitarist Nate Nagle, saxophonist Lyndsay Reilly, keyboardist Brett Fanelli, bassist Aaron Kenawell and drummer Randy Sciarrillo – have built a large and loyal area following as they have honed their unique musical blend and live show, developing a large arsenal of original songs along the way. The official record-release party takes place on Saturday evening, November 11, starting at 7:30 p.m. at The Casino at Altoona’s Lakemont Park. The PennSoulvanians will perform songs from the EP and other original tunes; special guests Innocent Sin from Clearfield will open the evening.
