The ongoing budget impasse in the Commonwealth is a growing concern for community colleges and public libraries. State lawmakers have been back and forth on the funding of the 45-and-a-half billion dollar budget that Governor Josh Shapiro signed in August. Now, community colleges are starting to dip into their cash reserves and libraries are furloughing employees. Meanwhile, lawmakers aren’t back to work for another two weeks as the budget remains in limbo.
