An Altoona City budget that includes a half-mill increase was adopted last night by Altoona City Council. The increase means that for a property assessed at $100,000, will see an increase of $50-for a total of $563 in city real estate tax. The increase was approved to generate one million dollars over the course of next year in an effort to create a cushion that will eventually help the city face expenses in 2025.
