December 15th is the last day to sign up for government-assisted health insurance in Pennsylvania. The deadline would let coverage through the state’s Pennie program be in place on January first. State officials say nine in ten people qualify for financial help with coverage with some residents paying well under 100-dollars in monthly premiums and others paying as little as 20-dollars. The coverage is intended for people who would otherwise struggle to afford insurance but earn too much to qualify for Medicaid.  About 360-thousand state residents bought coverage through Pennie this year.
