A 30 year old former employee of the U.S. postal service has been sentenced for stealing mail. Adam Fouse was sentenced last week before a U.S. District Court Judge to one year probation, including 30 days on home confinement. Fouse was also ordered to pay $1,200 in fines. According to U.S. Attorney Gerard Karam for the Middle District of Pa., Fouse opened gift cards and other mail that had been entrusted to him as a postal carrier. He also stole money from the mail to help finance a gambling addiction. Fouse has resigned from his position and will not be allowed to accept a position of public trust for ten years.
