The Keystone State sits atop the food chain when it comes to grocery prices. This according to a newly published report by Consumer Affairs titled “The Rising Cost of Groceries by State,” which determined that Pennsylvania grocery shoppers fared the worst this year as prices rose by eight point two percent over a 12-month period. Vermont and Maryland reportedly tied for second place. Colorado residents fared the best, with average prices rising only two point nine percent during the same period. The article also determined that prices rose nationally by five point three percent.
