Over 175-million-dollars in state aid to fix school buildings will be delivered soon. The money was released in two bills signed by Governor Shapiro last week after winning final approval from lawmakers. House Bill 1300, the new fiscal code, creates the Public School Facility Improvement Grant Program with 100-million-dollars available. The Commonwealth Financing Authority will consider grants to school districts and career and technical schools with a maximum award of five-million-dollars. All money will need to be matched with 25 percent local funds. The other 75-million is from other sources.
