Three Clearfield County individuals have been accused of animal cruelty after a dog was found muzzled with a shoestring, and shot in the head. State Police in Clearfield have only said the three Mahaffey residents included a 31 year old woman, a 60 year old man and a 16 year old. State Police were informed of the incident last month after the dog was found with a shoestring tied around its muzzle and in poor health. The dog, which was a bull mastiff named Duke, was taken to Pittsburgh for treatment where it was confirmed the animal had been shot in the head. Charges against the three include aggravated cruelty to animals, conspiracy and numerous other charges. Reportedly all three have admitted to abusing the dog. The suspects have not yet been identified by authorities.
