Animal rescue workers are struggling to care for 90 dogs found in “unimaginable” conditions in Bedford County. Reportedly volunteers from eight humane societies were called in to help with the rescue of the canines, including a variety of breeds like Pomeranians to Beagles to Labrador Retrievers. The Bedford County Humane Society will be taking the majority of the dogs, and took to Facebook to ask for donations of blankets, towels and other items. State Police report the dogs were living in cages stacked from floor to ceiling. Ninety dogs, eight cats and a turtle have been removed from the home. A GoFundMe account has been set up to help support the shelters, and monetary donations can be made on the Bedford County Humane Society website. In the meantime, State Police are investigating the situation and how the homeowners came to have so many dogs.
