Possibilities for Solar, Wind Energy Up For Debate in Legislature

State lawmakers will spend some time in the coming months debating about alternative energies. Even though coal is still the primary energy source in the Keystone state, a bill in the state House would increase the amount of electricity Pennsylvania gets from renewable sources. The current proposal would increase renewable energy goals from eight percent up to 30 percent within six years. Officials say currently, the state has about 27 wind farms.
