Authorities with the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General have filed charges against the Bellwood-Antis District Athletic Director and a former wrestling coach for allegedly “covering up” the sexual abuse by former junior high wrestling coach Ryan Blazier. Three years ago Blazier was convicted of abusing two students and was later sentenced to serve decades behind bars. Yesterday, authorities charged athletic director, 52 year old Charles Burch, and the head wrestling coach at the time of the abuse, 59 year old Timothy Andrekovich. Burch reportedly faces charges of witness intimidation after he allegedly threatened “repercussions” against one of Blazier’s victims. Andrekovich was charged with child endangerment after authorities’ say he failed to follow the district’s “safety plan” after the allegations against Blazier were made known. The State Attorney General’s Office say both men were arraigned yesterday and have been released on unsecured bail. A preliminary hearing is slated for January 30th. Burch is currently with the school district’s athletic program. Andrekovich stepped down from his position in 2021.
