Almost 245,000 dollars in state funds has been released to Antis Township for upgrades to the Bellwood-Antis Community Park. State Representative Jim Gregory advocated for the funding and yesterday announced its release. The Greenways Trail and Recreational Program grant, from the Department of Community and Economic Development, will pay for replacement of a playground unit, replacement of park benches, provide new pet waste stations, allow for renovation of the park pavilion and add new waste and recycling bins. The grant requires a 15% match, which the township will provide. Reportedly, the township hopes to get a good chunk of the work done this year.
