Authorities say five women, all from the same family, are dead, and a man was injured, after being hit on Interstate 81 in Scranton. The incident happened Tuesday evening in Scott Township when the five victims were hit by a tractor trailer after they had just gotten out of their vehicles following a separate crash. Icy roads are being blamed for the crash and police say the driver of the tractor trailer is cooperating, though it’s unknown at this time if any charges will be filed. State Police say all of the victims were from New York. An investigation is underway.
